The Unapologetic Mathematician

Mathematics for the interested outsider

Searching for a collaborator

Well, now that I’ve built up a bit of a readership, I think I’ll try fishing a bit. I’ve got a problem I’d like to work on, but part of the theory as I understand it is “magic” to me, so I can’t really figure how to do what I want with it.

So, if you (or someone you know) is knowledgeable about SL_2(\mathbb{C}) representation and character varieties, or about flat SL_2(\mathbb{C}) connections on 3-manifolds, and is interested in collaborating on a problem in knot theory, please drop me a line.

  1. I’m interested in the problem, at the moment I am a post-doc in non-commutative algebra and representation theory and I know a bit about character varieties (mainly of SL_2(Z) and of torus knot groups) moreover I have a keen interest in knot theory from the time I was an undergraduate.
