Travelling
I’ll put the main line of the blog on hiatus for a little bit while I travel, especially since it’s so hard to make links or to type $latex over and over again without a copy/paste function.
I do want to make one note/puzzle in connection with my trip from Washington, D.C. to New Orleans, LA. Earlier today I was driving north, south, and west all at the same time. Where was I?

You were on I-77 north, I-81 south, and US 52 west, in southwestern Virginia.
I knew that I-77 and I-81 did that; I didn’t realize that there was a third road involved.
(Now, is there anywhere where you can go in all four cardinal directions at the same time?)
To be honest I didn’t notice that it was also signed as US-52. What I did notice is that I was physically travelling west at the time.
Looking it up, I see that US-52 is actually running “north” there, while US-11 is running “south”. And the road goes west. And the exit for I-77 south is numbered 81. Sheesh!
