I had a different song queued up for this week, but I just noticed what installment it is. The Taking of Pelham One Two Three is one of the best crime movies ever made. And it’s being remade for release later this summer. I’ve seen the trailers for the new version, and all signs point to it being an unmitigated travesty. I don’t even see any sign of David Shire’s amazing score! So I’ll break with my lyrical tradition this once and send you to listen to the way this movie should sound: Shire style.
